Seafront restaurant in Altea

La Tablería sits right on Altea's seafront promenade, beside the white balustrade that looks out over the Mediterranean. Here, paella by the sea is no cliché: it means a table on the terrace, a steaming paella pan and the blue horizon of the bay of Altea.

Our menu brings together everything people come to the Costa Blanca for: Mediterranean tapas, sharing boards («tapas a medida», as our name suggests), rice dishes and paellas made to order and fresh seafood. Five minutes on foot from Altea's old town and its blue-domed church.

Many of our guests from l'Albir and l'Alfàs del Pi come over for a paella de marisco or an arroz del señoret and stay on to watch the evening settle over Altea's promenade.

House tip: our rice dishes are cooked fresh to order (25–35 minutes). Paella is made on the spot, no pre-ordering needed: around 30 minutes.

From Calpe: a tapas board worth the trip

Between Calpe and Altea there's barely a quarter of an hour of scenic coastal road. After Arenal-Bol beach or a climb up the Peñón de Ifach, the perfect plan is a tapas board to share by the sea: jamón, calamares, tortilla, homemade croquetas, mussels and prawns from the bay.

Altea's promenade is pedestrianised and peaceful: perfect for a seafront dinner without the crowds of the big resort areas.
